2026 PolMusicA Competition

PolMusicA is a three-stage competition for young instrumentalists and singers living in Australia, open to participants up to 17 years of age.

The competition includes three age categories:

  • Category A: 11 years and under

  • Category B: 12–14 years

  • Category C: 15–17 years

Instrumental sections include pianostrings  across all age categories. Vocal category is available for Category C, with the repertoire requiring one piece to be performed in Polish.

Applications are open from 20 July 2026 and close on 14 September 2026.


How to Apply

Please read the Competition Rules carefully before beginning your application.

  1. Choose your age group
    Select the appropriate age group — A, B or C — and check the repertoire requirements for your instrumental or vocal category.

  2. Prepare your repertoire
    Select works from the official PolMusicA Repertoire List.

    Participants may also propose works by Polish composers that are not included in the official list. Any additional work must be approved by the Competition Organising Committee before the application is submitted.

  3. Prepare your audition recordings
    Record your complete audition program, either as a solo performance or with accompaniment, where required.

    Upload each recording to YouTube and set its visibility to Unlisted.
    Please make sure that the links can be opened without requesting access.

    For detailed recording requirements, please refer to paragraphs 16 and 18 of the Competition Rules.

  4. Complete the Application Form
    The Application Form includes:
    – participant and contact details;
    – age group and performance category;
    – complete repertoire information;
    – links to audition recordings;
    – participant or parent/guardian consent;
    – photograph upload;
    – accompaniment details, where applicable; and
    – payment information.

    Please prepare all required information and recordings before beginning the form.

    For applicants under the age of 18, the form must be completed or approved by a parent or legal guardian.

  5. Accompaniment
    Applicants in string and vocal categories should provide the details of their accompanist in the Application Form.

    Applicants may also request the Competition’s official accompanist. Please refer to the Accompaniment section of the Competition Rules for further information.

  6. Pay the application fee
    The application fee is AUD $50 for all age groups.

    Please include the participant’s full name as the payment reference.

  7. Submit your complete application

    The application process is completed by submitting the Application Form, including all required information, recording links, consents and payment details, by 14 September 2026.

    The number of applications accepted may be limited due to the competition schedule and available performance time.

    Please check your application carefully before submitting it. Missing information, inaccessible recording links, incomplete payment or failure to meet the application requirements may result in the application being deemed ineligible.
