PolMusicA Alumni Shine at the Young Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition 2026

Dillon Chan, Young Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition

PolMusicA is delighted to congratulate two of our alumni, Dillon Chan and Chloe Au, on their outstanding achievements at the Young Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition 2026 — one of Australia's most prestigious competitions for young pianists.

Dillon Chan, winner of the PolMusicA Competition in 2021, claimed both First Prize and the People's Choice Award, becoming the youngest finalist and winner of this year's competition.

In the final round held in Brisbane, Dillon performed the first movement of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11 with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Earlier in the competition, he also impressed audiences and jurors with his performance of Chopin's brilliant Variations on "Là ci darem la mano", Op. 2.

Joining him among the prize winners was Chloe Au, recipient of a Distinction award at PolMusicA 2025, who was awarded Second Prize after performing the first movement of Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 16 in the final round.

For PolMusicA, these achievements represent much more than competition results. They reflect years of dedication, artistic development and the extraordinary commitment of young musicians, their families and teachers.

One of the central aims of PolMusicA has always been to support young artists not only during the competition itself, but throughout their ongoing musical journeys. Watching former participants return as guest performers, laureates and ambassadors of the next generation of Australian musicians is one of the greatest privileges of our work.

Dillon Chan has remained closely connected with the PolMusicA community since his victory in 2021, appearing in subsequent editions of the project as a guest artist and performer. Chloe Au's success this year further highlights the exceptional standard of young pianists emerging through competitions such as PolMusicA and Young Lev Vlassenko.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dillon and Chloe and look forward to following their future artistic achievements with great pride.
